Nafplio - Festival & Bouzouki contest "Manolis Chiotis", August 22nd 2018

On August 22-23rd 2018, the 5th "Manolis Chiotis" Festival of "Pronia" municipal district of Nafplio also starts this year, taking place in the National Assembly Square (Plateia Ethnosynelefsis), dedicated to our beloved Manolis Chiotis, of huge musical size and a truly unforgettable musician. Special guest of the 5th Festival is M. Paouris in the bouzouki. There will also be exhibitions and theatrical events.

10.00 - Bouzouki Virtuosity Competition
20.00 - Opening of Exhibitions (at the 3rd Elementary School, in Pronia)
- Of handcrafted violins by Kostas Xipolias and of folk instruments by Dimitris Darras
- Exhibition of Karagiozis handcrafted figures by Yiannis Kokkoris / video tribute

11.00 - Bouzouki Seminar, from the virtuoso Michalis Paouris
21.00 - Award of the prizes.

The Bouzouki Contest
The Municipality of Nafplion also organizes for the first time a bouzouki contest for young people up to 30 years of age, within the framework of the 5th Nafplio Festival "Manolis Chiotis".

Up to 12 years of age
Up to 16 years of age
Up to 30 years of age
Εach candidate will perform a piece of Manolis Chiotis and a skillful piece of free choice - total duration 7 minutes.

Competition Terms
The interpretation of all songs - musical pieces is mandatory by memory.
Contestants have the option of choosing the songs performance order.
The order of appearance of the contestants for all categories will be determined by a lottery, that will take place one day before the start of the competition.
