Nafplio - From V. Tsitsanis to M. Theodorakis, July 27th 2019

Two unique, different and parallel musical worlds meet on this special concert on Saturday, July 27th 2019 in Arvanitia Square Nafplio: the one of the leading composer of popular songs Vassilis Tsitsanis, with that of the world-renowned creator Mikis Theodorakis. Both served well the Greek folk musical tradition, each one in his own way, with his own musical skills. However, their popular musical concept is somewhere in common...

In this original musical program, the coexisting of songs of the two great musical figures is attempted. The timeless songs of the two creators have long held a place in our memory, but also in our hearts.

Performing the "Mikis Theodorakis" Independent Popular Orchestra, founded 23 years ago by musicians-collaborators of Mikis Theodorakis, deeply acquainted with his work. Today it is made up of 12 prominent musicians and collaborates with singers of recognized artistic value. Also performing with the orchestra in famous popular songs, our beloved Glykeria and Kostas Macedonas. Music editing: Thanasis Vassilas.
