Syntagma Square - Greek Navy Band, June 29, 2018

The story of Greek Navy Band begins in April 1879. Twenty-eight volunteer musicians are sailing with Atmodromon (as they called their warship) "HELLAS" and taking part in its training voyage, they make the first appearance of a Greek military band in the capital of Malta, in Valletta. After 17 years, while the band has made significant progress, it is participating in the opening of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens, on March 25th 1896.
