Syntagma Square - "Romana" Orchestra, 30 April 2017

On Sunday, April the 30rd, 2017, at Syntagma Square, the Municipality of Nafplio, in collaboration with DOPPAT, organizes a concert with the famous Greek orchestra of traditional Greek and traditional music "ROMANA". In the direction of the artistic director Emmanouil Karpathiou.

The orchestra will perform music by Greek composers of the Konstantinoupoli and Songs of Mikra Asia with the participation of the dance group of "Friends of the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation". The event is open to the public.
The 40-member Romana Orchestra is the only one in Greece and aims to show classical composer works. It includes all the organs of the Eastern Roman musical tradition, ie cannabis, urethra, violins, winds, lyres, crusts, bobbins, cello, all kinds of arts, political lute, santuri, tambourades. The orchestra also includes instruments of western culture (piano, guitar, etc.) that are orchestrated in such a way as to serve eastern classical music, ie Byzantine.
In this orchestra are housed the most important Greek artists of this genre and as music and musical director is the musician Manolis Karpathios.
