The original performance "Voices", by the Polish theatre "Teatr Brama", will be presented on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at the Aria subpurb of Nafplio, at the teaching facilities of the School of Fine Arts of the University of Peloponnese. There, voices lead to the underworld, and from there they show the way back to the light...
"Voices" is a performance that straddles the line between theatre and music. Teatr Brama uses song, as one of the elements of theatrical language. Based on traditional, polyphonic international songs, the group explores their common element - the core of humanity.
The songs are rendered in many languages; however, understanding the words is not necessary to feel their power. Each song carries emotions, atmosphere and history with it. A mystical universe of symbols unfolds. The voices lead to the underworld, and from there point the way back to the light...
Teatr Brama
Founded in 1996 by Daniel Jacewicz, Brama Theatre has grown into one of the most dynamic and recognizable independent theatre organizations in Poland. Although based in the city of Goleniew, the group spends most of its time travelling with performances and workshops in Poland and internationally.
Over the years, Teatr Brama has presented its work in countries such as Germany, Peru, the United States, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Brazil, Ukraine, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Japan, Romania, Spain and the United States. At the same time, it has hosted hundreds of artists and dozens of international art projects in Golenjov, turning the city into a vibrant hub of creative exchange.
From 2012 to 2017, Brama co-founded the Alternative Theatre Academy (ATA) - a platform for interdisciplinary, experiential theatre education. This educational project has involved the participation of important international theatre personalities such as Eugenio Barba, Theodoros Terzopoulos and Tomasz Rodowicz.
