The “little square” in Amalias str. gradually acquires a different dynamic over time, making it a landmark in Nafplio. And if you're wondering which constantly evolving square this is, yes, it's where Teory is located.
This bar-bistro has achieved something unique: it has become an all-day favorite spot, not only for the young crowd, but for all ages. It is the place where you can go to simply enjoy a (very good) coffee, accompanied by a fluffy cake treat, whether you're alone, with your friends, or even with your four-legged friend. It is the place you will choose if you crave a hearty breakfast, a leisurely brunch, a tasty lunch, or an evening with beers, varieties, or cocktails. This, yes, I consider it a success and give credit to its owner, Theodore Dagiantis and his team, as soon as I meet them.

Here you feel like home
A small, but exceptionally cozy space welcomes me, as I open the sliding door of Teory. I choose to sit on one of its sofas, enjoying my coffee and the sunlight streaming into the space, gazing at the movement on Amalias Street and the view of the "little square."
As I step inside, my eyes can't help but focus on the long, narrow bar, the shelves filled with bottles of drinks and the upside-down hanging glasses. Right after, I notice the wall in the background, where an illuminated structure with round elements and carefully selected small antiques makes the leather sofa right below it highly in demand among groups of friends.
Teory is filled with sofas, armchairs, tall metal tables, leather stools, wooden ledges on the wall for drinks, decorative choices that, although seemingly different from each other, ultimately give it its unique characteristic style.

nside and outside
The outdoor enthusiasts sit on the pedestrian Kotsonopoulou street, amidst the uniquely styled metal lighting fixtures that harmoniously blend with the metal or marble tables and the fabric-covered chairs in warm tones. Many choose the area right across from the main building, with the large umbrellas and the opening windows, in the same eclectic style of decoration, and the relaxing view of the square.

How about a coffee?
Coffee enthusiasts, like myself, will love it here, as you indulge in your espresso, macchiato or Americano -and of course, there is the classic beloved Greek coffee as well.
But tea lovers won't be disappointed either, as you can choose among 12 different types of tea (green, black, herbal, with Greek herbs). The tempting chocolates here are also delightful, including my favorite Ginger chocolate & Indonesian cinnamon.

Meeting for drinks
Drinks? Their number is infinite! From beers and traditional spirits (such as ouzo and tsipouro) that you can accompany with one of the varieties (cold cuts, cheeses, mixed, meat) to premium choices from the cellar, including whisky, malt, bourbon, tequila, rum, cognac, and special aperitifs.
A special mention must be made for the wine list, with its huge variety of white, rosé, red, sweet wines, sparkling wines and champagnes, as well as organic wines from vineyards in Argolis and Corinth under the label "Nafplia Gi" that are worth a try.

A look at the food menu
I warn you: the food menu is just as rich as the drinks menu. It all depends on the time of day and what your appetite craves.
The breakfast options are excellent and I recommend including the popular and delicious pancakes of Teory (both savory and sweet). If you're caring your figure, a healthy Quaker pie is an ideal choice. And of course, you'll find fresh juices, omelets, egg dishes, fruit salads and waffles (note: the Teory waffle is amazing!).
If it's lunchtime and you manage to skip the appetizers (bruschettas, tortillas, halloumi cheese, potatoes), try the hearty salads as main courses -my personal favorite is the Salmon salad, with salmon, baby spinach, arugula, loll, fennel and cherry tomatoes.
Okay, if you're really hungry, choose homemade burgers, a club sandwich like you've never had before, seafood risotto from the pasta options, Teory's chicken fillet (with a secret recipe!), and a beef burger from the main dishes. Pizza? Of course, they also make pizza and they offer seven different types. You can even create your own, by choosing the toppings.
If you can't live without dessert, you won't know what to choose first: Chocolate soufflé, brownies, ice cream, or maybe mosaic cake, orange pie, “galaktoboureko”?
From your very first encounter with Teory, you will understand why it has become the top choice in the city for any time of the day. And not by chance, you will find yourself here again and again, scheduling your appointments, sharing conversations, thoughts, and memories.

Did you know that?
You can also go with your baby, as you will find baby seats here, while for children there is a kids’ menu with chicken bites, tortilla hot dog, beef burger or chicken with fries.
For those feeling very sleepy, choose the Black Eye -two shots of espresso in filter coffee. It wakes you up from the first sip!
Ask for the homemade warm raki with honey, as well as the hot wine with orange, cinnamon, and anise -you will remember me.
Cigar enthusiasts will appreciate the premium cigars.
The service is extremely helpful and polite, as befits such a beautiful and cozy place.
