The first positive impression comes from the courtyard with the palm trees, the budding rose trees and the marble tables. On the opposite side you can see the green park, as well as Nafplio’s main landmark, Palamidi. So much beauty captured in one place!

The charm of the past
The building is an architectural gem, painted with charming pink stucco and green-cypress doors and shutters. Right and left, the balconies with the black chancellery, seem like small ornaments. I go up 5-6 stairs (it's obvious how old it is) and enter the main entrance of the mansion. All 13 rooms are comfortable, carefully decorated to the smallest detail, with antique furniture and paintings, exuding grandeur befitting the history of the mansion.

Dreamy stay
On the ground floor you will find the reception, as well as four standard double rooms. Upstairs, I get into a superior room, the most high-ceilinged, with a dreamy iron bed to lie down and to gaze at the blue ceiling, with its both painted pieces preserved from the past, but also with the unique lamp hanging, like those that the old mansions had in the past, baring candles. As for the balcony, its view of Palamidi castle, the courtyard and the trees of the grove is simply unique. Next door, I admire another dreamy room with an internal iron staircase.

Decoration inspired from the past
I go out in the hallway, the wooden floor is covered with carpets. I look up at the ceiling and notice the painted pieces that have been preserved here, as well as the hanged antique lamps. A big tall decorative mirror in front of me, has a decorative woman-prow, as they used to put in front of the old ships. Everything is fine and perfectly taken care of!

In the courtyard of miracles
I take a walk in the courtyard and I get in the back of the building. Three bungalows are here, double bedded basically, one even becomes a 4 bedded, as they inform me... I am going inside to see the rooms; with antique furnishing and iron beds, covered with Guy Laroche linen, I find them luxurious and really cute!

Healthy morning start
You take your breakfast in the lobby. What a breakfast! A buffet full of fruits, four kinds of bread, yogurt, olives, cereals, milk, eggs, cherry tomatoes, croissants, spinach-cheese pie, orange pie, cakes, jams from the trees in the courtyard and whatever coffee you like!

You are getting attached to it
The environment here is warm, friendly, the staff always smiling, while serving you by giving you information on what you can do in the city and the surrounding areas. This explains why the Nafsimedon has stable customers and manages to create warm relations with them, both Greeks and foreigners. And because this is a trip to the charm of the past, which in Nafsimedon hotel is offered so generously!

Did you know that?
Nafsimedon was one of the sons of Nafplios (in Greek mythology) and the word means ship captain.
If you wake up late and you miss the breakfast, there is the possibility for room service.
You can have a seat and a drink in the courtyard even if you are not a resident, while you can even get inside, to visit the old mansion.
