Olivine Tasting Bar and Shop
I cross the Kolokotroni park, with the statue of the equestrian hero surrounded by flowery jacarandas and, coming out as if from a painting with shades of purple, I enter the green-golden "A!Ladokampos" of Vassileos Pavlou srteet.
The owner Maria Aivaliotis, born and raised in the United States, has returned to the land of her mother and she became involved with the olive cultivation, production and packaging of extra virgin olive oil. So there she is now, in her own beautiful "A!Ladokampos" shop in the old town.

In the view of Nafplio
I sit outside, choosing the wooden round table with imprints of leaves, to enjoy a fresh made fruit juice. I notice how the wood on the tables (starring the tall elongated one with the stools) is harmoniously combined with the wooden pots full of green plants and the clay pots with the olives, in a result that captures the harmony of the Greek land.
The perimetric glass partition allows the view of the sidewalk and the park unobstructed, while the sliding roof offers you all the stars of the sky in the evenings, while you enjoy a nice wine or a cool beer, along with the delicious snacks that Maria makes. If you choose a table on the pedestrian road, you will have before your eyes the imposing castle of Palamidi -a total dream!

The grocery store of yesterday and today
Inside, the grocery store is full of Greek flavors, but also elegant choices for gifts. Upon entering, you are greeted by two large tubs, which have been turned into bases for jars, bottles with olive oil and "tsipouro". On the shelves the glass jars, filled with small nougat sweets and delicious pastries, challenge you to put in your hand and grab three or four, like when you were a small child.
While Maria opens a carton box delivered with pistachios from Aegina (if you love them, here you will also find peanut butter, pesto, vanilla with pistachios, liqueur, Turkish delights, pistachio spoon sweet!), I continue with my visit at the shop. On the left, the wooden table for tastings awaits you, to taste different types of olive oil, but also wines, combined with local products and delicacies.
When Mary offers me to try truffle potato chips, I am speechless by their special taste and decide to give in to the temptation of the Italian Tartuflanghe products and buy a truffle oil and some truffle breadsticks to take home. I choose a canvas eco-bag embroidered with the word Achladokampos to put in my goodies, and a tote bag with a blue eye on it, for a gift to a friend, who often gets the evil eye.
In the background, a series of filled shelves brings the philosophy of the old grocery today. A tube for the oil, a bowl with three different types of edible olives (from Ahladokambos, of course), jars with olive paste and olive delights, special wine labels, aromatic oils (of rosemary, basil, garlic, origan, pesto, saffron, truffle!), challenge you to buy them all and set up a beautiful table for friends in your backyard on a summer night.
Your childhood memories from the village, the tables in grandma's whitewashed yard, the incomparable charm of the Greek countryside, your connection with mother earth: When you are in Maria's Ladokampos, all these inside you will wake up and you will see everything differently… Simple and essential.

Tips
Ask Maria to try the excellent honey "Let it bee" from citrus flowers -you will definitely want to get some jars for home!
Take a look at the "Olivie" treatment line based on olive oil (products for body and face, wonderful creams and masks, scented soaps, lip balms, but also a men's line), as well as the "Kyr Mentios" line, with products made from donkey milk.
Arrange with your close friends or bring here your friends visiting from abroad for tourism, to make an unforgettable tasting or ship & wrap, by making your own basket with extra virgin olive oil, nice wines, and local products.

Did you know that?
The village of Ahladokambos is said to have taken its name, when a Turk (during the Turkish occupation), facing the olive trees in the plain, exclaimed "Ah! Ladokambos"!
The "A!Ladokampos" can host a small event or even a social event.
