Night of Museums in Nafplio, 20 May 2017

On Saturday, May 20, 2017, Museums and Art Areas celebrate the European Museum Night! All City Art Museums and Art Areas open their doors late at night, with free admission, and welcome you with live music and exhibition inauguration, and a glass of wine in a spring night, different from any other.

For 2017, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has chosen the theme: "Museums and controversial stories: the museums talk about what they are not talking about."
By choosing this theme, ICOM wishes to highlight museums as institutions of social peace, believing that the presentation of controversial or controversial issues can be a first step towards social reconciliation and the harmonious coexistence of people. Museums can contribute to understanding difficult, contradictory, or complex aspects of human history. In addition, as mediators and dialogues, they have the potential to play an essential role in the peaceful treatment of traumatic stories, offering multiple visuals and readings.
