Trianon - "To Tavli", 2 to 4 December 2016

The Experimental Stage of DOPPAT presents the play of Dimitris Kehaidis "To Tavli" in direction of Valia Rentouli on 2,3 and 4 December at the “Trianon”  Theater.  The play is a comedy of characters which reveals the modern Greek reality and intimates the dream of modern Greeks.

The Case
Fontas and Kolias, friends and relatives, different characters come together in a warm summer afternoon playing backgammon in the backyard of their home and discuss ways to “strike it rich”. Fontas, a man who have been around tries to convince Kolia, former resistance who now sales lottery tickets  to set up a ruse, which will upgrade their socially.
The play was first staged at the Art Theatre in February 1972, in the midst of dictatorship, directed by Karolos Koun, starring Nikita Tsakiroglou as Fondas and John Mortzos as Kolia. Since then, the one-act often rises in theaters, which demonstrates the insightful look writer in modern Greek culture.
