Vouleftiko - "Soma" painting exhibition, July 26th - August 9th 2020
In Nafplio old town's center, in the "Vouleftiko" (First Greek Parliament building), within the framework of the events "Summer 2020" of the Municipality of Nafplio, an Exhibition of Painting and Engravings entitled "Soma" (Body) will be hosted, from July 26th to August 9th 2020, by the artists Ariadne Balala and Marina Bobou. Two young artists, having Nafplio as place of origin and residence, they create paintings and engravings. They compose their personal concerns and rebuild the Body (soma). The Body as a vital organ, as flesh, as cover, as a whole and, finally, as an identity. The Body as a static and historical object, as a source of life and pain, of a beautiful femininity in the world of decomposition...
Ariadne presents paintings. Her main theme is human nature through the female figure, as Marina presents engravings. Her theme is the body as a lifeless object, its abuse and dismemberment.
