Nafplio - 30th Music Festival, 10-18 of July 2021

Κάστρο Παλαμήδι στο Ναύπλιο, Palamidi castle Nafplio Peloponnese

30 Years of Nafplio Festival! This year, the Nafplio Music Festival celebrates a double anniversary: the completion of its 30 years, but also the 200 years of the Liberation of Greece.
Having become now an institution with an international scope, the Festival takes place from 10th to 18th of July 2021, under the artistic direction of Giannis Vakarelis, and -due to its anniversary character- will travel back in time and will remember all the internationally renowned artists, who have honored it.

The Nafplio (Classical) Music Festival is a great cultural event with international recognition, but also a unique opportunity for a visit to the enchanting Nafplio. The Mayor of Nafplio and the artistic director and pianist Giannis Vakarelis, welcome us to the 30th Nafplio Festival, presenting a panorama of events in the most beautiful parts of the city: in the emblematic Palamidi castle, in Syntagma Square, in Agios Georgios' Square in front of the church, in Agios Spyridon, in the square of "Evangelistria" Church.

The Nafplio Festival has hosted some of the brightest bands and artists of the international classical scene and has been honored with the distinction of the best festival by the Association of Greek Music Critics. During its presence, more than 250 Greek and foreign artists have appeared, among them some of the most famous names in the world, as well as 24 Quartets, 18 Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras, as well as a number of emerging young artists. Its concerts, which take place with a symbolic ticket in the magnificent monuments and squares of Nafplio, have attracted more than 190.000 visitors, Greeks and foreigners, both from the local community -who loved and supported the festival from its first year- as well as from Athens and the rest of Greece, while it has regular friends, who offer their support and presence every year, emphasizing the cultural value of the Festival.
