An original, collaborative Masterclass of Traditional Music and a Festival - Seminar for Music Schools will be held in Nafplio, on Thursday, April 4th 2024 at "Vouleftiko" Hall, on the topic "The traditional ensemble in Greece".
The Festival - Seminar of Music Schools is organized in collaboration with the National, Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Postgraduate Programme "Ethnomusicology and Music Practice", directed by Professor Lambros Liavas. It is organized by the Music School of Argolis, under the auspices of the Directorate of Secondary Education of Argolis and the support of the Region of Peloponnese, the Municipality of Nafplion and the Chamber of Argolis.
The Music Schools of Alimos, Argolis, Kalamata, Corinth and Tripoli participate with their traditional ensembles.
The Festival will conclude with a big music Concert at the Nafplio Gymnasium at 6 p.m. on the same day, by the Traditional Ensembles of the above mentioned Music Schools, which will be open to the public.

Did you know that?
The music schools of Greece (49 in number) are public secondary education schools specializing in music lessons. The first school of this kind established in Greece is the Music Gymnasium-Lyceum of Pallini, which began its operation in 1988. The Music School of Argolis is located in the village of Prosymna, in Argos.
