Toccata lake Tahoe performance

The large symphony orchestra and choir "Toccata" from the Tahoe lake's region of the USA, are coming to Greece for the first time this April, for yet another exciting concert -right after Athens: on Saturday, April 13th 2024, at the Vouleftiko hall in Nafplio, 34 American musicians will perform on stage, with a rich repertoire of ecclesiastical and classical music, that will captivate us...

On stage, there will be 11 orchestra members playing cello, harmonium, oboe, red violin, viola, violin, along with 23 choir members, in a magical concert lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes.

James Rawie is the artistic director and conductor of Toccata, with a notable and successful career in classical music as a maestro.
Elizabeth Pitcairn is the featured soloist of Toccata, famous for her "Red Violin". She is one of the most acknowledgeable soloists with international fame. Her "Red Violin" -a "Red Mendelssohn" Stradivarius of 1720- is one of the most legendary instruments, said to have inspired the Academy award-winning film "The Red Violin".

Toccata
The orchestra was founded in 2005 by James and Nancy Rawie, as a non-profit musical arts organization based at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Gradually, the increase of the funding and the support of the local communities empowered Toccata to become an ensemble, regularly performing major symphonic works around the world such as Italy, Salzburg-Prague, Slovakia/Hungary, France and Spain. The musicians performed in different venues, such as the Toulouse Cathedral, the Dali Museum Theater, the Basilica of Montserrat, the Gothic theater in Barcelona and the crypt of Sagrada Familia -now coming at the Voukeftiko hall in Nafplio!
