Walking dawn Sidiras Merarchias street on a sunny day, that was making Nafplio even more beautiful, I thought I had a long time to see my friend Aspa, and without a second thought, I crossed the entrance of Elena Hotel. "Am I at the right place?" I wondered, just taking a few steps and finding myself surrounded by an environment -let me say- European. Yes, this is the right word to describe what I felt at first glance. I knew there had been some changes in the hotel recently, but the truth is that I did not expect to see so much taste.

You feel like home
The lobby, completely different now, cozy, homely, brings out tranquility and not only welcomes you to the hotel, but also invites you to share moments with it. To book your business appointment here or to prefer the meeting table to work with your laptop. Or to not work at all, for a change, and just watch a little TV at the 42’ plasma relaxing on the comfortable sofas, or taking a book from the lending library and getting lost in its stories. Books mainly in foreign languages, but also in Greek, traveling with their owners in suitcases, they arrive in Nafplio, they get read and from here they travel again for other destinations in other hands. How nice this is!

The best start for your day
In the left -as you enter- there is the breakfast room, where your day starts with a healthy breakfast with local Greek products, freshly squeezed orange juice, cake, cheese pie, fruits from of the owners' family estate and goodies that you enjoy knowing that they are of 100% quality.

It is morning and while talking with Aspa, hotel guests were coming down from their rooms to have breakfast. Couples who have come here for an excursion, businessmen who come and go for business, families with their children.
They have chosen Elena hotel because they know its strong points. Beside the ones mentioned above, the stronger point maybe, its central advantage, is that everything here is in a walking distance. And the view of Palamidi castle above (ah, the view of beauty…) is it not a strong point?

And, believe me, the 76 also renovated Elena hotel’s rooms, double, triple and two-room suites (for up to 4 persons) spread out on three floors, are achieving it. Simple, frugal, with a subdued mood in the decoration and small details that make the space beautiful, with all necessary comforts. With the view of Palamidi at the front and side rooms, having more tranquility in the rooms behind, the choice is clearly yours which of all to prefer.

The secret of its long-lasting success
Every time I come here, I wonder how one can maintain such a large hotel. Aspa, along with Panagiotis and Andrianos, her brothers, seem to know how to do it very well.
It is no coincidence, that for more than 35 years Elena Hotel is the steady choice of Greek and foreign visitors. Is the secret of this success its central spot, its view, its economic prices, or that the people who welcome you here, always have a smile on the face? I will leave you wondering. You will find the answer when you come here too.

Did you know that?
Breakfast sweets are tailored to the needs of customers. Other for young visitors, other for older, other seasonal and other festive. Sweet quince, however, is my favorite!
The hotel operates as a Bone Marrow Volunteer Sampling Center, supporting the work of the Association “Orama Elpidas” (Vision of Hope). Ask how you can become a Bone Marrow Donor, giving hope to the children, who are sick. An extremely human initiative!
Due to availability (as of the wide number of rooms), the hotel is the ideal choice for groups and also for families and couples who want to take a long vacation.
The history of the hotel begins many years ago, when Aspa's grandfather, an immigrant to America, returned and bought the mansion that existed at this spot. And -of course- he named the mansion after his wife, Elena.
